Half way down a small dirt road in the small town of Canggu in Bali, lies Sundari’s modest workshop which doubles up as her home. Sundari and her family have been crafting leather goods for over 15 years now. Her experience is apparent in the detail and quality of the products.
The workshops not exactly on a main road and therefore she struggles to get business. When I met her, she told me that ‘she wanted to do business with us forever’. Sundari’s told me her primary objectives were to send her 6 year old daughter Linda to School in city as her eldest daughter, Putu missed out on this opportunity. She also said one day she wishes to move in to a house independent to the workshop.
